Praveen & Swarna

Praveen and Swarna were born and brought up in rural villages in Southern India where meals are cooked daily, using fresh ingredients grown in local fields.

They married and moved to Scotland combining their passion for good and simple food.

Praveen's career within the hospitality industry has seen him travel across continents, working in some of the world's most prestigious five-star establishments such as Gleneagles and Turnberry before settling in Perth, Scotland.

Praveen & Swarna's journey to bringing Authentic Indian Cuisine to the UK started when they opened Tabla Restaurant in Perth, Scotland, in 2009.

It was an immediate success, with awards and loyal customers flocking in, including being the first Indian restaurant in Scotland to be awarded 1 Rosette by the AA.

Praveen then founded Scotland's Indian Cook School...a real tourist attraction for those looking for a unique Indian cooking experience.

Guests love hearing Praveen & Swarna unravel the tales of their family spice farm back in India and their adventure here in the UK.

Praveen and Swarna's goal was to provide the same authentic, award winning dishes to customers throughout the UK and not put up with any more dodgy takeaways.

So...Praveen Kumar was born!
