Praveen and Swarna opened Tabla Restaurant in Perth in 2009. It quickly became Scotland's first Indian restaurant to earn an AA Rosette, followed by Indian Cook School — twice named Cook School of the Year.

Frustrated by the poor quality of UK ready meals, in 2018 they launched Praveen Kumar Authentic Indian Cuisine, now stocked in hundreds of stores nationwide.

Our Purpose

Indian food should be healthy, flavoursome and properly tasty — without the dodgy aftermath.

We use fresh, local ingredients, farm-assured British meats and spices straight from our family spice farm in India. Every dish is hand-prepared in small batches by our award-winning chefs.

Absolutely no additives, no preservatives, no colourings. Just 100% natural, traceable ingredients — just like we'd make at home.

We blast freeze every meal to lock in flavour and goodness — no preservatives needed.

Frozen is just as nutritious as fresh, with far less waste. Customers can reheat from frozen in the oven or microwave for restaurant-quality food in minutes.

Our twin-unit production kitchen sits within a custom-built food and drinks park, powered by an onsite solar farm and roof-mounted panels.

In 2022 we earned SALSA Accreditation — held every year since — recognising our commitment to producing safe, legal, quality food.
